FERGUSON LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Don’t start the summer slide! Sign up for the summer reading program at the Ferguson Library! Program starts June 24th and runs until August 26th. Stop into the Ferguson Library or sign up online.

SEAMLESS SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

Stamford Public Schools (SPS) announces its participation in the federally funded Seamless Summer Food Program. This program, an extension of the National School Lunch Program, provides meals to children when school is not in session. The program is federally funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Connecticut State Department of Education.

Under the program, nutritious meals will be provided through Chartwells Dining Services, free of charge, to all Stamford children, 18 years and under,  at the following site(s): http://www.stamfordpublicschools.org/district/news/stamford-public-schools-participate-seamless-summer-food-program

DUE TO THE WEATHER, TOMORROW, June 13th WILL BE EARLY DISMISSAL

Due to the extreme heat, all Stamford Schools will have early dismissal, Tuesday, June 13.  Davenport Ridge will dismiss at 1:20 p.m. All afterschool programs, including ROSCCO, will be canceled tomorrow. For other after-school programs, please contact the provider directly.

JOIN US IN CONGRATULATING MRS. BROWN ON HER NEW POSITION

Mrs. Kendra Brown has been named Interim Director of Early Childhood Development & Intervention of the APPLES Pre-K program.

While we will miss Mrs. Brown, the search process will begin to identify an outstanding interim assistant principal. We want to congratulation Mrs. Brown on her new position and thank her for all her hard work and dedication to the students of Davenport. SPRING CONCERT SERIES

On Tuesday, June 6th the Davenport Instrumental Music Program will perform. Featuring the 3rd grade recorder group and 4th and 5th grade band and string groups, it is a show not to be missed! Daytime performances will be held at 9:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. and the evening show will start at 6:30 p.m.

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

SPRING BOOK FAIR AND FAMILY CAMP-IN!

Kick off summer reading at Davenport Ridge! Join us for the Spring Book Fair from Wednesday, May 31 to Friday, June 2nd, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students can shop with their class for new summer reading books. Or shop online from May 24-June 5 at Scholastic.
Then join us on Thursday, June 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Davenport Gym for a Family Camp-In. Click on the Spring Book Fair Flyer for more info and to purchase an end of the year gift of books for your child’s teacher. REMINDER TO 5TH GRADE FAMILIES

5th GRADE DANCE MONEY: Please make sure you get in your $5 for the 5th grade dance by June 5th! Please send into school with your name in a marked envelope for “5th Grade Dance.”

RIPPOWAM INFORMATION SESSION: The Rippowam PTO invites all parents with incoming 6th graders to an information session on Tuesday, May 30th at 7:00 p.m. at the Rippowam Middle School Cyber Cafe.

BACK TO SCHOOL SHOP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Back to School Shop is an all-volunteer run community program offered to economically disadvantaged elementary school children in Stamford.  This year, we hope to accommodate as many as 250 children. To do that, we will need at least 150 volunteers.
