We have extended the due date for the Davenport Brick Program. Please send in your completed form by March 31st. Don’t forget to contribute $5 to your classroom brick as well.

Lord & Taylor’s “Shop Smart. Do Good.”

Lord & Taylor’s “Shop Smart. Do Good.” Fundraising Shopping Event is coming up on Saturday, April 1 from 9am-11pm. There will be special events throughout the store, including complimentary makeovers, guest appearances, gifts with purchases and much more. Pre-sale starts on the 25th and a list of events will be posted soon. Please purchase a $5 ticket to support Davenport Ridge PTO, then get your list and your comfortable shoes ready to shop until you drop.

HOOP GIRLS RETURNS TO DAVENPORT

The Potsdam Pitches will present a concert on Thursday, March 30th at 6:30pm in the Julia A. Stark Auditorium. All are welcome! Students from Stark, Turn of River and Dolan will be performing during the concert.  www.potsdampitches.com

 

DAVENPORT RIDGE WEEKLY PTO UPDATE 3/13/17

DGT IS THIS SATURDAY!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday, March 18th at Rippowam Middle School for Davenport’s Got Talent. Doors open at 4:00 and the show starts at 5:30. There is still time to buy your general admission tickets, raffle tickets, Shout Outs and DVDs online on our DGT webpage.

Please note: The deadline for Shout Outs will be tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14th at 12:00 noon.

We are still in need of volunteers to help out on Saturday. Please review the link to the DGT 2017 Lineup Form so you can find a time to volunteer and still see you child perform. This is our largest volunteer event of the year and we are really hoping to get as many parents as possible involved. Please see the signup site for a list of all available time slots.

DGT SILENT AUCTION

Get ready to start your bidding Saturday night at DGT!  We have some great auction items including WWE tickets, Garden Catering package, Tutoring Club of Stamford, signed NY Mets baseball, Peak Performance summer camps, lunch with Mayor Martin, Kids U play date, Long Ridge summer camp, Camp Breezemont and Camp Cody!

We also have great raffle items from our awesome teachers like a bowling and arcade pizza night with Ms. Summa, ice cream social with some of the kindergarten teachers, private lessons with Mr. Leftwich and snacks and video games with Ms. Kanel!

You have to be present to win so get yourself over to DGT on Saturday!  See you there!

There is also still time to donate towards the raffle baskets. There is a collection box outside of the main office for collection and we will be accepting donations until Friday, March 17th.

SCOPES EVENTS

Laurel House is cohosting a free screening of the film, “No Letting Go,” with the Child Guidance Center of Southern CT, and the Ferguson Library, on Thursday, March 16th at 6:15 at the Ferguson Library Main Branch. “No Letting Go” is the story of one family contending with the challenges of understanding and finding appropriate resources for a child struggling with a mental health disorder. DAVENPORT PTO IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!

Are you looking for a way to get more involved at Davenport? The PTO would love to have you as a parent volunteer. There are so many upcoming events in the next few months and we are looking for help with all of our school activities, including Davenport’s Got Talent, the Outdoor Classroom, Earth Week, Staff Appreciation Week, Gator Alley, Spring Pictures, Book Fair and more! There are also open positions on the Executive Board for those who are looking to devote their time. Please fill out and return the volunteer form to you child’s classroom and we will be in touch! SAMPLE PLANET FUEL ORGANIC JUICES IN THE CAFETERIA ON MARCH 1st

On Wednesday, March 1, students will be able to sample organic juices from Planet Fuel during lunch. The children will provide feedback as to whether or not the juices should be added to the lunch menu. For more information about this collaboration with Planet Fuel and Chartwells, please see the letter from Mr. Pissari and the nutritional information on Planet Fuel juices.

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM BUY A BRICK PROGRAM

Get in your forms to purchase a personalized brick and help raise money for Davenport’s Outdoor Classroom. Forms are due on February 28th! Also, don’t forget to  donate $5 towards a classroom brick to help commemorate your child’s 2017 classroom. Please put this money in an envelope addressed to your room parent.

DAVENPORT’S GOT TALENT RAFFLE ITEMS

We are collecting items to put in our gift baskets to be raffled off at DGT on Saturday, March 18th. Each grade level has a theme and any donations towards the baskets are appreciated. Basket themes include: Pre-K: Arts & Crafts, Kindergarten: Gardening, First Grade: Baking, Second Grade: Summer Fun, Third Grade: Family Night Out/In, Fourth Grade: Pampering and Beauty, Fifth Grade: Outdoor Adventures.
